பெரோமோன் பொறியை ஒரு ஏக்கருக்கு ஒன்று வைத்தேன். இரண்டு வாரத்தில் நிறைய காண்டாமிருக வண்டுகள் பொறியில் விழுந்தன. குருத்து சேதம் வெகுவாகக் குறைந்துவிட்டது.

Placed one pheromone trap per acre. Within two weeks many rhinoceros beetles were caught and crown damage reduced a lot.

வாளி பொறி தரமாக இருக்கிறது; வெயிலிலும் மழையிலும் கெடவில்லை. லூரை மட்டும் மாற்றி மீண்டும் பயன்படுத்த முடிகிறது.

The bucket trap is sturdy — no damage in sun or rain. I just replace the lure and reuse it.

சிவப்பு கூம்பு வண்டு லூர் வைத்த பிறகு தோட்ட எல்லையிலேயே வண்டுகள் பிடிபடுகின்றன. மரங்களுக்குள் நுழைவது நின்றுவிட்டது.

After using the red palm weevil lure, weevils get caught right at the plantation border and entry into palms stopped.

மேலாண்மை விளக்கங்களில் எத்தனை ஏக்கருக்கு எத்தனை பொறி, எங்கே கட்ட வேண்டும் என்று தெளிவாக இருந்தது. அதே படி செய்ததில் பொறியில் வண்டு விழும் எண்ணிக்கை கூடியது.

The management notes clearly explain trap density and where to hang them. Following that increased my catch rate.

V வடிவ வெட்டுக்கள் ஓலைகளில் அதிகமாக இருந்தன. பொறி வைத்த ஒரு மாதத்தில் புதிய சேதம் தெரியவில்லை.

Fronds had many V-shaped cuts. One month after the trap, no new damage.

காண்டாமிருக வண்டு ஏற்படுத்தும் காயத்தால் தான் சிவப்பு கூம்பு வண்டு உள்ளே வருகிறது என்ற விளக்கம் புதிதாக இருந்தது. இரண்டு லூரையும் சேர்த்து பயன்படுத்துகிறேன்.

Learning that beetle wounds invite the weevil was new to me. Now I use both lures together.

பொறியை அமைப்பது எளிது. உள்ளே தண்ணீர் வைத்து மாதம் ஒருமுறை சுத்தம் செய்கிறேன். பராமரிப்பு சிரமமே இல்லை.

Setting up the trap is easy. I add water inside and clean it monthly — hardly any maintenance.

லூரின் மணம் மூன்று மாதம் வரை நன்றாக வேலை செய்தது. பொறியை மரத்திற்கு வெளியே எல்லையில் கட்டியதால் தோட்டத்திற்குள் வண்டு வருவது குறைந்தது.

The lure stayed effective for about three months. Hanging traps at the border kept beetles from entering the grove.
